Picture Quality

Sony KD55XF7073 has a very good picture quality thanks to the 4k resolution. The HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology provides colorful images and is very important when playing games or watching colorful content. However, we have bad news for the movie lovers because this TV doesn’t have local dimming. The lack of local dimming means that the black color depth and uniformity are not so good and that makes the movie watching experience less enjoyable. But at least has frame dimming technology which compensates a little for the lack of local dimming tech. The colors look good too thanks to the live color technology. So if you planning to watch mostly HDR content and sacrifice the lack of deep black colors, this TV might be the right TV for you. We will give 4/5 points for the Sony KD55XF7073 review part of the picture quality.

Features

Sony KD55XF7073 is a smart TV so you can connect it to the internet and browse online content. The connection can be established through the integrated wireless module or through the Ethernet port. The VEWD browser is light which makes it a reasonable choice for TV implementation. However, this model doesn’t have the Android operating system. Other models, most advanced ones, come with Android operating system and hence with the Google play store and 16 GB on board storage which is not the case for this TV. Instead it has Linux operating system and it does contain an App store which is the VEWD store. Anyway, you can also share your smartphone’s screen easily with the TV through the Miracast technology. We will give 4/5 points for the Sony KD55XF7073 review part of the features.

Sound

Sony KD55XF7073 has two built-in speakers with 10W power each. The total output power of 20W is usually enough, unless you are standing too far from the TV. If this is the case you should consider buying external speakers that will turn your room into a home theater. If you are planning to buy external speakers you can also take advantage of the surround sound mode. The sound is clear thanks to the Clear Audio+ technology, but that also depends on the content quality. We will give 4/5 points for the Sony KD55XF7073 review part of the sound.

Design

Sony KD55XF7073 has generally a good design. The color looks good and the frame is thin. Also most of the connection ports are on the side so there will be no problem if you wall-mount it. The stands are not the best we have seen but they aren’t terrible either. We will give 5/5 points for the Sony KD55XF7073 review part of the design.

Price

The price was £629 as of November 2018 which is not a bad price. We will give 4.5/5 points for the Sony KD55XF7073 review part of the price.

Sony KD55XF7073 Review Conclusions

This TV is generally a good TV if you plan to use it mostly for watching HDR content. It doesn’t have local dimming so the movie watching experience won’t be the best. Also, it doesn’t have the Android OS which is a really strong feature of Sony’s TVs and comes instead with the Linux OS. There are also no special features except the basic ones like Miracast and Internet connectivity. The sound is loud and clear but that also depends on the content quality. The price is good too but that is always a matter of perspective. We hope that our Sony KD55XF7073 review has been helpful.
