Picture Quality

LG 34UC99 has an amazing picture quality thanks to the ultra wide resolution which is also the preferred resolution by most people. IPS panels tend to have the best colors but not the best response rates. But don’t get us wrong because this monitor is good for gaming because it falls under LG’s gaming category. The contrast ratio isn’t the best out there but still it produces great colors, mostly because of the IPS panel and 1.07 billion colors can’t be wrong. The brightness is good too but not the best that we have seen. We will give 5/5 points for LG 34UC99 review part of the picture quality.

Features

LG 34UC99 also comes with some very useful features where the most important one is the free sync technology. This feature removes image tearing and provides a smooth gaming experience. Another good gaming feature is the black stabilizer that can really bring objects out of the shades. The screen can also be divided in lots of different ways and this comes in handy when you are working. LG 34UC99 also has all the essential connectivity including one type c port and it has two built-in speakers with 7W power each, which is great. Other important features are flicker safe technology and 1ms motion blur reduction. We will give 5/5 points for LG 34UC99 review part of the features.

Design

LG 34UC99 has also a great design. The color looks good and it can adapt in any room. The stander looks good too and it is not too big or exaggerated. It has the common flexibility but nothing special worth to mention, simple and great. We will give 5/5 points for the LG 34UC99 review part of the design.

LG 34UC99 Review Price

Our review price was $1,199 as of October which is high even for a great monitor like this. We will give 4/5 points for the LG 34UC99 review part of the price.

LG 34UC99 Good User Reviews

Portal to a new Dimension.

This is not a monitor. This is a step into an entirely new way to consume and experience content. If you have a USB-C driven device, this is as good as it gets. I didn’t know what to think. I was an early consumer of this – but oh boy, it has lived up to all and more. Plug and play monitor, speakers, USB hub, all through one cord. And it’s a beautiful machine.

I couldn’t praise this more. Let it be said its early in my ownership so the test of time is yet to be completed (and I’ll update this when it has). If you can afford it, you should get it.

brilliant for movies

once you go ultrawide you can’t go back. brilliant for movies, games, and just browsing. What’s not to love? No auto switching to HDMI inputs when game console turns on. No separate picture setting for HDMI and display port, i.e. have to use wide for both, can’t have wide for HDMI and 1:1 pixel mapping for display port. Don’t know why. Everything else is great. Pictures settings are useful and spot on. The LG software that sets different picture profiles for different programs is great.

Beautiful screen with one small problem.

So far, the monitor is doing great. It has an amazing picture, great features and looks gorgeous! My big issue right now is the USB-C is not charging my laptop. After working with LG support, they suggested replacement, the only problem, they didn’t have any to replace it with. Thankfully Amazon had some more in stock and my replacement will be here tomorrow. Here is hoping it solves the issue and I’ll update my review if so.
The LG 34UC99 is an expensive but well-equipped monitor with everything you could wish for on an UltraWide. The monitor has an excellent color accurate and clear screen and very good specifications. The screen is perfect for watching movies, gaming and productive work.

Brilliant picture, excellent curve for easy viewing, lovely stand. Stable picture, loads of space. Hardly takes any room on the desk.

LG 34UC99 User Bad Reviews

☆☆☆ 3 out of 5 stars.

Poor image quality in corners and edges

After a great experience with an LG TV, I thought I’d give this display a chance. It’s paired with a Late 2016 15″ MacBook Pro. My previous monitory was an Apple Thunderbolt display. My biggest complaint is that the brightness does not appear to be uniform across the screen. The upper left corner is noticeably dimmer than the center of the screen. The other corners are dimmer as well, but not to the same extent.
That said, here are some other pros and cons:
Pros:
– USB-C means one cable for display, power, and USB for the MacBook Pro. The power delivered to the Mac is limited to 60 watts. I suppose that if you exceed that, the laptop will lean on the battery, but in my daily use, I haven’t experienced any problems.
– The monitor comes with a USB-C, display port, and HDMI cable.
Cons:
– I can only mute the volume of the display speakers from the keyboard. No other audio adjustments work. It is easy to adjust the volume with the single button on the bottom of the display, however.
– My windows lose their placement on the screen after sleeping and waking. I’m not sure if that’s an issue with Mac OS or the display, but I didn’t experience it with my old Thunderbolt display.
– The dimming in corners and along the top and bottom edges is a distraction

product is not 34 inch WQHD (3840 x 1600) 21:9 IPS display

Conclusion

LG 34UC99 is a great monitor overall. The picture quality is amazing and especially the colors. The response rate is not the best out there but it is not terrible either. The most important features are the free sync technology and the black stabilizer. Design is great but the price is high. We hope our LG 34UC99 review has been helpful to you.

Should I buy LG 34UC99?

If you can afford such an expensive monitor than LG 34UC99 has a great viewing experience to offer. However, we also recommend taking a look at this other monitor LG 32UD99-W.
