Picture Quality

LG 34UC89G-B has an amazing picture quality thanks to the ultra wide resolution which is also the preferred resolution by most people. IPS panels tend to have the best colors but not the best response rates. But don’t get us wrong because this monitor is great for gaming too. The contrast ratio isn’t the best out there but still it produces great colors, mostly because of the IPS panel. The brightness is good too but not the best that we have seen. We will give 4.7/5 points for LG 34UC89G-B review part of the picture quality.

LG 34UC89G-B also comes with some very useful features where the most important one is the NVIDIA G-Sync technology. This feature removes image tearing and provides a smooth gaming experience. Another good gaming feature is the black stabilizer that can really bring objects out of the shades. The screen can also be divided in lots of different ways and this comes in handy when you are working. LG 34UC89G-B also has all the essential connectivity but it doesn’t have built-in speakers. Other important features are flicker safe technology and crosshair. We will give 5/5 points for LG 34UC89G-B review part of the features.

LG 34UC89G-B has also a great design. The color looks good and it can adapt in any room. The stander looks good too and it is not too big or exaggerated. It has the common flexibility but nothing special worth to mention, simple and great. We will give 5/5 points for the LG 34UC89G-B review part of the design.

LG 34UC89G-B Review Price

Our review price was $799 as of October 2017 which is high even for a great monitor like this. We will give 4.5/5 points for the LG 34UC89G-B review part of the price.

LG 34UC89G-B Good User Reviews

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 out of 5 stars.

I have had my eye on this monitor for weeks now and I finally dropped the cash on one (Not lucky enough to be one of the YouTubers who got given them!) and I am so happy that I did. The only worry I had with this monitor was the resolution but I comfortably can say that it isn’t an issue. I even sold my 4K LG27UD88-W to put towards this so it was a big drop in resolution. This display is clean looking, colourful and fast. I had never experienced ultrawide, G-Sync or a refresh rate faster than 60Hz and I have been blown away by how good these features are. All the games I play are 21:9 supported and my 980Ti is running them on ultra settings between 90 and 100FPS. Had the resolution been 2560×1440 it would have been difficult to get frame rates as high and all the competing monitors at that resolution look ugly/gamery, have terrible quality control issues and are pricey in Australia. Even browsing the internet and watching 21:9 video content is good on this, the extra screen space is so nice to have. I have used dual set ups before and it is so nice to not have the bezel between them. I honestly could go on and on about how much I enjoy using this monitor. For anyone who is concerned about the resolution, don’t be. If you have huge amounts of cash to burn for a system (and the monitor) that can run a higher resolution at higher refresh rates then it might not be the right choice. But for anyone who isn’t in that tier, build your PC around this monitor. It is amazing!

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 out of 5 stars.

I use this with a Alienware laptop and have to say the screen space is just wonderful! After I learned how to use the screen split software it is so easy to get around and have everything I need on this screen…

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 out of 5 stars.
greatest purchase i’ve made, besides my pc. I always use it for gaming and it works smoothly and gets me good quality videos and games

Awesome gaming monitor for FPS
An excellent monitor. One of the few curved monitors that can actually keep up with the my GTX 1080ti video card. With various FPS games such as PUBG and Battlefield 1 – I have no issues and average around 80 – 120 frames per second (fps) on ultra settings in even the most intensive battles. I particularly like that it is a G-Sync monitor and is best utilized with NVidia Cards.

The field of view is a definite advantage and I have been able to see about 20% more than with a standard monitor.

One note of caution is that if you use the HDMI connection then you are limited to 60 fps. The display port is the only connection that will support higher frame rates.

This screen is also not glossy so reflection is at a minimum.

☆☆☆☆☆ Coming from a 24 inch 16:9 60Hz 1080p TN panel, this thing is amazing for first person shooters and general web browsing.

I bought this from B&H for $650 since Amazon ran out of stock. So far I’m very pleased with the purchase.

So I’m coming from a 24 inch 16:9 60Hz 1080p TN panel. I have this monitor about 2 feet away from my eyes and it looks fantastic. The whole PPI thing is not an issue for me at all. Sure if you look closely by having your eyes 3 inches from it, then you’ll see pixels, but from normal viewing distance? Not at all. Not for me at least. I don’t wear glasses either.

I have an Acer Predator 17 laptop with an i7 2.6GHz and a GTX 1070. I’m using DisplayPort to connect this monitor and turned off the laptop’s screen.

For performance testing I only had a chance to run one game, Battlefield 1. I had no problems with Battlefield 1 at ultra settings with the laptop’s 75Hz 1080p 16:9 screen, but with this monitor, I had to drop some of the processing settings to medium because my frame rate would drop to like 1FPS for a few seconds every now and then. I lowered others to high and only have one thing at ultra. Now it runs very smooth and never drops to 1FPS like before. I think my CPU is the bottleneck in this case for Battlefield 1. Still, the 21:9 aspect ratio coupled with 144Hz and G-Sync makes every gaming session intense and butter smooth!

I’m enjoying web browsing and viewing documents as well, zooming in where you have a great horizontal viewing space. Also the ads you see on many sites now don’t take up much viewing space to the sides anymore.

LG 34UC89G-B Bad User Reviews

☆ 1 out of 5 stars.
I just purchased it on Cyber Monday, 2017. It lasted all of 16 hours before it, for a lack of a better word, died. My other monitor of 4 years works fine but this absolutely brand new monitor just died.

☆☆ 2 out of 5 stars.

I’m not satisfied for that product because it is very awful product …

I’m not satisfied for that product because it is very awful product color is good but it is very wider screen and brightness is very higher.Thanks.

LG 34UC89G-B is a great monitor overall. The picture quality is amazing and especially the colors. The response rate is not the best out there but it is not terrible either. The most important features are the G-Sync technology, black stabilizer and crosshair which can really improve the gaming experience. Design is great but the price is high. We hope our LG 34UC89G-B review has been helpful to you.

Should I buy LG 34UC89G-B?

If you can afford such an expensive monitor than LG 34UC89G-B has a great viewing experience to offer. However, we also recommend taking a look at this other monitor LG 34UC88-B.
