Picture Quality

LG 27UD58-B has an amazing picture quality thanks to the 4k resolution and the brightness is good too. IPS panels tend to have the best colors but not the best response rates. But don’t get us wrong, because this monitor is good for gaming too, even that is not designed specifically for gaming. The response rate is not the best out there but is not that bad either. We will give 5/5 points for the LG 27UD58-B review part of the picture quality.

Features

LG 27UD58-B also has some very useful features. The most important one is AMD free sync technology that makes the gaming experience smoother. Also the black stabilizer is good too and can really bring the objects out of the shades. However, it doesn’t have much connectivity and does not have built-in speakers. We will give 4/5 points for LG 27UD58-B review part of the features.

Design

LG 27UD58-B has also a really nice design. The color looks great and so does the stander. It also has the common flexibility. We will give 4.5/5 points for the LG 27UD58-B review part of the design.

LG 27UD58-B Review Price

Our review price was $396 as of December 2017 which is a bit high even for the 4k resolution, the useful features and the great design. We will give 5/5 points for the LG 27UD58-B review part of the price.

Great External Monitor for MacBook Air
Works great with mid 2012 MacBook Air, PS/4, and Apple TV. Had to use SwitchResX and enable high-res in OS X Sierra. Fonts under UHD resolution is way too small, so opted for QHD. Still a big productivity boost. There are some third party HDMI adapters that supposedly allow 4K resolution, but it seems safer to go with DisplayPort cable. Great picture quality.

Great Picture and AMAZING response time with Freesync. Good interface, a simple but effective stand, and overall, just a lot of 4k for your buck. One month in and it’s done nothing but impress me.

One note for Freesync users: you will need to be in a Game mode on the monitor to access and enable Freesync in the menu. If you are not in that mode or do not do this, your display adapter may read “Freesync not Supported.” Once you enable it in the monitor, however, everything works great. I’m using the included DisplayPort cable, but this includes an HDMI cable as well!

The search is over!
I am a professional photographer and do tons of graphic design work. I have had the most horrible time finding a 4k monitor that matches my Macbook Pro 15’s monitor. After my long search for an inexpensive editing monitor I have finally found it! The funny thing is, I thought I had to go for the 100% SRGB monitors to get mac colors but that wasn’t the case. I need awesome color. I need whites that are white. I have returned several monitors including Samsung’s 4k monitors due to that yellow tinting on whites. Anyone who cares about a screens colors knows what I am talking about with the yellow staining and light bleed along the sides etc. Is this monitor completely perfect? No, but for the price and for Mac people you need to get it. No dead pixels and very even saturation the whole screen over. Buy it!

So much better than I expected for the price.

This LG monitor is a real bargain. The inputs are minimal (2 HDMI and a Display Port) so it’s dead simple to use. There is a little nub on the bottom under the LG logo that pulls up the onscreen controls.

The resolution on this is really amazing (which I expected from a 4K). The screen itself is not glossy but not matte either. It’s just perfect.
The bezels are kept to a minimum and it’s light but still sturdy. It’s very light too, but not so light that you can’t use it with a Desk Mount LCD Arm (I’ve got this monitor hanging from an LX Desk Mount LCD Arm. It’s perfect and looks very cool too!). Overall – when you first get it – this is a DARN good monitor. It’s an amazing monitor for the price. I’m hoping it has the same longevity that my old BenQ had. Interestingly. This new LG monitor was about $10 less than the BenQ.

It’s hard not to be VERY happy with this monitor.

I love this monitor
I love this monitor, it give a great image from multiple angles, has multiple inputs on the back, is very much plug-and-play. The little joystick under the front is well hidden from view, but easy to find by touch, feels good, and it’s menu system is very intuitive. There isn’t a single button on the front anywhere.

At first I loved it and thought it was the best bang for your buck. But lately I have only had it for a few months and its already starting to flicker on me…not sure why if anyone has had this issue or if the seller knows whats going on it would help greatly. But I am scared it is already bugging out our about to fail on me….but before all the small issues this monitor is great I just hope everything doesnt fail on me.

Mine is sitting in the closet.
The game i played on it had crazy screen tearing. I tried everything, nothing worked. Went back to my old 1920 x 1080 144hz monitor. Attempted to just use this one as a secondary monitor. That didn’t work either, it caused a number of issues. Now this one is sitting in the closet. Not the best for gaming. Also, that resolution on this sized screen is not the way to go. If you want res that high i def suggest going with a larger monitor. Also would suggest going for 144 hz. I wouldn’t suggest wasting your money. Just save a bit and go for one of the good ones.

Conclusion

LG 27UD58-B has a great picture quality to offer thanks to the 4k resolution. It is good for gaming too. Also it has some very useful features that will make the gaming experience much better. Design is good but the price is a little high. We hope our LG 27UD58-B review has been helpful to you.

Should I buy LG 27UD58-B?

LG 27UD58-B is one of the best monitors out there, however we also recommend taking a look at this other monitor Samsung U24E590D.
