Picture Quality

Sony XBR75X850E has a very good picture quality thanks to the 4k resolution. The HDR (High Dynamic Range) provides colorful images which is very important when playing games or watching colorful content. However, we have bad news for the movie lovers because this TV doesn’t have local dimming. The lack of local dimming means that the black color depth and uniformity are not so good and that makes the movie watching experience less enjoyable. But at least has frame dimming technology which compensates a little the lack of local dimming tech. The colors look good too thanks to the live color technology and triluminos display. So if you planning to watch mostly HDR content and sacrifice the lack of deep black colors this TV might be the right TV for you. We will give 4.2/5 points for the Sony XBR75X850E review part of the picture quality.

Features

Sony XBR75X850E is a smart TV so you can connect it to the internet and browse online content. The connection can be established through the integrated wireless module or through the Ethernet port. The Opera browser is light which makes it a reasonable choice for TV implementation. Also this TV has the Android OS which had always been a strong part of Sony TVs. Android OS has more features than any other OS, plus it has the Google play store where you can find many useful apps. The 16GB on-board storage is sufficient unless you plan to store many movies in it. Anyway, you can share your smartphone’s screen easily with the TV through the Miracast technology or Chromecast . We will give 5/5 points for the Sony XBR75X850E review part of the features.

Sound

Sony XBR75X850E has two built-in speakers with 10W power each. The total output power of 20W is usually enough, unless you are standing too far from the TV. If this is the case you should consider buying external speakers that will turn your room into a home theater. If you are planning to buy external speakers you can also take advantage of the surround sound mode. The sound is clear thanks to the Audio Clear+ technology, but that depends on the content quality. We will give 4/5 points for the Sony XBR75X850E review part of the sound.

Design

Sony XBR75X850E has a very good design. The color looks very good and will adapt to whatever color your room has. It has a narrow frame, which is a very desirable design feature nowadays. Also the stander looks good and it is not exaggerated. One other good design feature is the cable management so there will be no more ugly cables around the TV. We will give 4.5/5 points for the Sony XBR75X850E review part of the design.

Sony XBR75X850E Review Price

Our review price was $2,498 as of August 2017 which is not that bad considering the 4K resolution and the Android OS, but that is a matter of perspective. However, the prices always change so you can click on the links below to see the latest prices available. We will give 4.5/5 points for the Sony XBR75X850E review part of the price.

Conclusions

This TV is generally a good TV if you plan to use it for watching HDR content. It doesn’t have local dimming so the movie watching experience won’t be that good. However, it does have the Android OS which is a really strong feature of Sony’s TVs. There are also no special features except the basic ones like Chromecast and Miracast that are useful. But it also supports BT HID which enables you to connect a keyboard and a mouse to the TV to make the browsing and gaming experience better. The sound is loud and clear but that depends on the content quality. Design is good because of the narrow frame and the hidden cables. The price is good too but that is always a matter of perspective. We hope that our Sony XBR75X850E review has been helpful.

Should I buy Sony XBR75X850E

We made the Sony XBR75X850E review because this is a good TV and may worth your money. However, the movie watching experience won’t be that good. We also recommend taking a look at this other TV Samsung UN75MU8000.

  1. I have had a SONY XBR-75x850E for 4 months and I would definitely not purchase again – I have had to set up the damned thing 5 times in the past 4 months – I would like to use it when I turn on and not have to set up this frequently…IF IT WOULD ONLY WORK, it works fine – but the hassle of having to reset up all the time is getting very, very old! WORST purchase I think I have ever made – would not wish it on anyone
