Picture Quality

Samsung CH580 has the VA (Vertical Alignment) panel which is good for those who play games because it has a low to average response time. With a 4ms response time, the gaming experience will be good, however, this monitor is not designed for the optimal gaming experience. The full HD resolution is not that bad and can save you a lot of money. However, you can always go for a different brand for a higher resolution. The contrast ratio is good so you will see deeper blacks and brighter whites, which is good for watching movies or playing games. Also the colors look good thanks to the active crystal color technology but not as good as they would look on a PLS panel. So if the colors are very important for you or you are doing some color critical work, you may want to go for a PLS panel.

Features

One of the most important features of Samsung CH580 is the AMD Free Sync technology, which comes in handy when playing games. This technology fixes the refresh rate throughout the screen when different part of the screen have different refresh rate. So you won’t see any image tears and choppiness when playing fast movement games. Also this monitor has the flicker free technology so your eyes will be less tired after watching a movie or playing a game and it also supports the eye saver mode. The game mode picture will improve the gaming experience but like we said, this monitor is not designed specifically for playing games. Samsung CH580 also has all the essential connectivity, except the USB ports. However, it has no integrated speakers which may be a problem for some people. We will give 4/5 points for the Samsung CH580 review part of the features.

Design

Samsung CH580 has a curved screen that offers a very comfort viewing experience. The color looks good but that is a subjective matter. The base is a simple one like we see on most monitor designs and it does not offer much flexibility except the basic ones. Also it has a nice proportion to the screen, not like some big ugly ones that we have seen. The back of the monitor is simple and does not look that good, but that is of no importance to the most people. The design makes the monitor look good in general and we will give 4.5/5 points for the Samsung CH580 review part of the design.

Samsung CH580 Review Price

Our review price was $249 as of May 2017 which is a good price but again that is a matter of perspective. We will give 5/5 points for the Samsung CH580 review part of the price.

Conclusions

Samsung CH580 has an average picture quality and it is good for everyday usage. Some people may consider the full HD resolution to be low, but that can also save you a lot of money. The gaming experience will be good thanks to the AMD free sync technology. Also this monitor has a 3000:1 contrast ratio which can provide deeper black and brighter whites which is important when watching movies or playing games. The response time is good too but not the best out there. Samsung CH580 also has some nice features like the AMD free sync, flicker free technology and the eye saving mode that will make your eyes less tired. The colors look good too thanks to active crystal color technology and infinite mega DCR. Design is good and so is the price. We hope that our Samsung CH580 review has been helpful to you.

Should I buy Samsung CH580?

This monitor can be a good deal if you don’t mind the full HD resolution. However, you might also wat to take a look at this other monitor Samsung CF398.
